Found copies of an old reissue of this ace release from UK’s best band in the last 10 years at least. Put Fluorescent Friends at its peak in terms of media/publicity reach… never even approached since. Indeed, the John Peel dug this band and this very EP on his show in the last year or so of his life…. he called their jam “Someone forgot to shave mister” something to the effect of “as good a 45 seconds as you will ever hear”. John Peel’s name graces many a righteous recording from indie rock trashdumps… something about his studio seemed to give any band AM gravel tones, mixed with Vaseline-on-the-lens, Spacemen type huzz and emotional pink slip. This band never played there but they didn’t need to; schooled in the Peel tradition and harnessing other turn-of-the-century rock winds, they put up a flaccid force of rock, lyrical originality and straightup Britishness that you won’t believe you miss so much. Someone buy this so we can reissue this shit. Again.
